Dalla Chiesa has a long history in civic engagement against the mafia in Italy, and has written numerous books on the topic of organized crime and corruption.

He is also the director of  the Interdepartmental Research Center on Organized Crime in Milan and has covered several political posts, including senator.

His engagement and knowledge on the topic is linked to a personal loss he suffered, when his father, prefect Carlo Alberto D. Chiesa, were murdered in 1982 for his efforts to fight Cosa Nostra.

It is my pleasure to host the event entitled: Women against the Mafia: a gendered perspective on a difficult rebellion.

The talk is based on his book “le Ribelli” (2006) which will be dedicated to an analysis of the role of women in the mafia and the anti-mafia.
